Living Together

Local Rules & Regulations

Bramblewood has a light-touch set of covenants — agreed by members, not imposed — that keep the lanes pleasant for everyone.

Hedges, fences and front gardens

Front hedges should be trimmed to under 1.2m by the end of May so pavements stay passable. Fences above 1m need written agreement from adjoining neighbours.

Parking and driveways

Please keep the turning circle at the end of each lane clear at all times. Caravans and trailers may park for 48 hours for loading only.

Noise and bonfires

DIY noise after 8pm on weekdays and after 1pm on Sundays is discouraged. Garden bonfires are limited to the first Saturday of the month, October to March.

Pets

Dogs on leads on the Green and in Orchard Field during events. The lane-end bins take bagged waste — please use them.

Good to Know

Questions neighbours ask

I’m new to Bramblewood — where do I start?

Welcome! Collect a welcome pack from the Corner Café, join the Tuesday coffee catch-up, and become a member here. Membership takes two minutes.

How do I book the Memorial Hall?

Members book free for community events and £15 an hour for private parties. Email hello@bramblewoodcivic.org with your date — the calendar fills fast in December.

Who cuts the verges and clears the lanes?

The county cuts adopted verges monthly; our volunteers look after the orchard field, troughs and noticeboards. Join a Saturday work party — gloves provided.

Can I get meeting minutes and accounts?

Yes — every member receives plain-English minutes within a week, and the accounts are presented at the March AGM. Ask the secretary any time.
