Our biggest day out of the year
Every October the whole of Bramblewood decamps to Orchard Field with blankets, hampers and folding chairs. The society provides the hog roast, the apple press and the marquee; you bring whatever you fancy — and an appetite.
This year’s programme includes the Bramblewood Folk Band, sack and egg-and-spoon races for under-12s, a produce show (longest runner bean wins eternal glory), and guided tours of the community orchard at 2pm and 4pm.
Running order
- 12:00 Gates open, hog roast lit, picnic judging begins
- 13:30 Children’s races on the lower field
- 15:00 Folk band set & produce show prizegiving
- 16:30 Lantern parade to the orchard gate
Getting There
