Eight Fridays, eight local acts
When the evenings stretch out, the bandstand on the Green comes alive. Our summer series mixes Bramblewood talent — the folk band, the school choir, the ukulele collective — with guest acts from across the county, from brass bands to a bluegrass trio.
Gates open at 6pm, music runs 7 to 9pm. The Corner Café runs a pop-up kiosk with hot drinks and traybakes, and every concert ends with a lantern-lit singalong finale on the closing night.
This year’s lineup
- Jul 5 Opening night: Bramblewood Folk Band & community choir
- Jul 19 Clay County Brass Band
- Aug 2 The Ukulele Collective (with play-along workshop)
- Aug 23 Closing gala: bluegrass trio + lantern singalong
Full eight-week programme is pinned to the noticeboard and emailed to members each June.
Support the Music
It runs on generosity
The series costs £4,000 each summer — staging, licences and a proper fee for every performer. Half comes from the retiring collections, the rest from members’ donations. Every pound goes straight to the music fund.
